How to Clean Alumina Crucible?

The alumina crucible is also called the corundum crucible. The shapes mainly include cylindrical, conical, arc, sagger, and other shapes. The alumina crucible has high purity and contains more than 99% of AL203.

Cleaning the alumina crucible

  1. Cooling the crucible: Before starting cleaning, make sure the alumina crucible is completely cooled to avoid burns.
  2. Residue removal: Use plastic or metal tools to gently scrape off the residue in the crucible, such as residual powder, carbide, vesaire. Avoid using sharp objects to prevent scratching the crucible.
  3. Cleaning: Soak in nitric acid for a long time.
  4. Dry moisture: Dry the alumina crucible before use to prevent bursting caused by water. When drying, it is usually dried at a temperature of 200 derece. Slowly heat up to 800 degrees in a high-temperature furnace for 6 saat, and then cool used later.

Precautions when cleaning corundum crucible

  • Avoid sharp temperature changes: Make sure the cleaned crucible is completely dry before use, and avoid sharp temperature changes to prevent thermal shock from causing cracks.
  • Avoid sharp objects: When cleaning and scraping residue, avoid using sharp objects to prevent scratching the surface of the crucible.
