Characteristics of high alumina anchor bricks

High alumina anchor bricks are a kind of refractory brick specially used for fixing and supporting the lining of high-temperature industrial kilns. Its main components are bauxita con alto contenido de alúmina and alumina. Its characteristics make it an indispensable material refractario in the lining of various kilns.

What is anchor brick?

Ladrillos de anclaje are also called hanging bricks and anchors. Anchor bricks are a new type of anchor bricks for industrial kilns. The roof of an electric furnace is a roof structure supported by metal hanging bricks and refractory bricks. Por lo tanto, the leakage of reactive gases and hot air in the furnace will damage the metal hanging parts, thereby causing the roof to collapse. The walls of industrial kilns and flues are composed of an inner lining, an insulation layer, and an outer wall layer. The inner lining is made of refractory bricks, and the outer wall is made of ordinary sintered bricks. Estas capas necesitan estar conectadas y ancladas., and the tensile and flexural strength of the anchor body is significantly improved. The stress generated at the groove is blocked at the ribs and cannot continue to be transmitted, por lo que los ladrillos de anclaje de esta estructura no son fáciles de romper.

Characteristics of high alumina anchor bricks

  1. Obstinación. The refractoriness of high alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks and semi-silica bricks, reaching 1750-17900C, and is a high-grade refractory material.
  2. Temperatura de ablandamiento de carga. Because high alumina products have high A1203, fewer impurities, and less fusible glass, the load softening temperature is higher than that of clay bricks. The load-softening temperature of high alumina products is generally above 1420-1550 grados. Sin embargo, because mullite crystals do not form a network, the load-softening temperature is still not as high as that of silica bricks.
  3. Slag resistance. High alumina bricks contain more A1203, which is close to neutral refractory materials. They can resist the erosion of acidic slag and alkaline slag. Because they contain SiO2, their ability to resist alkaline slag is weaker than that of acidic slag.
  4. Chemical erosion resistance. High-alumina refractory products have good resistance to corrosion, oxidación, and reduction reactions by acidic or alkaline slag and molten metal, and the resistance increases with the increase of AL203 content and the decrease of harmful impurity content.

Application of high-aluminum anchor bricks

Due to their characteristics, high-aluminum anchor bricks are widely used in the lining fixing and supporting structures of the following high-temperature industrial kilns:

Cement rotary kiln

Used for anchor bricks and kiln lining fixing at the kiln head and kiln tail, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance are particularly important.

Heating furnace and hot blast furnace

Installed at key parts of the furnace roof and furnace wall to provide support and fixing to prevent the lining from falling off due to thermal expansion and contraction.

Kilns in the steel industry

High-aluminum anchor bricks can be used for lining fixing of steelmaking electric furnaces, cucharones, hornos de remojo, and molten iron pretreatment devices.

Glass kilns

High-temperature corrosion and thermal shock resistance are particularly important when applied to the arch and high-temperature areas of glass melting furnaces.

Petrochemical industrial equipment

Plays an anchoring and supporting role in the lining structure of high-temperature cracking furnaces, catalytic cracking units, etc..

Kilns in the ceramic industry

Used in the arch anchoring structure of roller kilns and tunnel kilns to ensure the overall stability of the kiln body.
